What is the "Honor Flight Fifty?"

First of all, thank you very much for stopping by! I'm training for and running the Fall 50 (yes, that's 50 miles) this year as a fundraising effort for the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. I'm going to train all summer to run 50 miles on October 22nd to help raise money for an absolutely crucial mission.
The Honor Flight's Mission is to fly WWII veterans and terminally ill veterans from other wars to see their memorials in Washington, DC. They also work closely with schools throughout Wisconsin to ensure that the heroic stories of our veterans are built into the curriculum so that future generations will fully appreciate the sacrifices made on their behalf.
Time is of the Essence! As the last of the Greatest Generation approach their final curtain call, we are witnesses to a tremendous loss as we embrace a precious opportunity! They will die - 900 heroes - men and women who defined dignity, pass from us each and every day. 900 heroes, every day. They take their stories and history and enormous bravery with them. But many are still among us, and while there is no earthly way we can approach a gift that reflects our depth of gratitude, we can thank them anyway.
By supporting the Honor Flight Fifty, you'll help the Honor Flight Fly! 100% of donations will go to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.

How To Donate

Thank you SO MUCH for your support! Donations are possible in any amount, but I'm specifically looking for "Mile Sponsors":

Mile Sponsorship - $120
I'm running a 50 mile race. Each mile will be completed "In Honor of" or "In Memory of" a WWII veteran. If all 50 miles are sold, 5 veterans will be able to take part in an Honor Flight.

Donation Questions and Answers
Is there a way to donate and have it recognized as an "Honor Flight Fifty" donation?Yes! Please note on your donation form that you would like the donation recognized as an "Honor Flight Fifty" donation.

Can I donate directly to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight?
Yes! You can donate directly to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight thRough THIS LINK. All forms of donations (credit cards, checks, cash) are available at that link. However, considering the very tough demands currently on the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Staff, it is very unlikely they'll be able to track donations from this particular fundraising effort. Because of that, please consider donating through the Honor Flight Fifty means as listed above. You have my word, 100% of your donation will be contributed to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.

Is a donation to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, Inc. tax deductible?
Yes, we are a registered 501 (c) 3 charity.

Can I donate my airline miles? No. We charter aircraft for our trips.

When will I get a receipt acknowledging my donation?
If you donate online, PayPal will instantly generate an on screen confirmation receipt page and then PayPal will send an email receipt later that same day. If you donate by check, a letter from Stars and Stripes Honor Flight acknowledging your donation will be sent within three months. If you donate to the Honor Flight Fifty, via the P.O. Box, you will receive a receipt within 5 business days.
